Mono Smoke Spreading North and East Tonight
Smoke illuminated by the silvery moon from the 900 acre Mono Fire was well into into Walker Basin and the Wassuk Range Tuesday night. CA 120 is still closed at US 395 and the southern Mono Lake attractions are closed as well. The craters and the Jeffrey pine forest appear to be okay. A crew of at least 100 firefighters are working the fire, along with aircraft.
