Mono Craters Walk

Welcome to the newest mountain range in North America. I just stayed down at the base of the craters today for a nice relaxing walk for a few miles. It was warm, but there is plenty of shade on the NE side from the pines. Very quiet, except for the occasional wind gust. The Mono Craters and its Jeffrey Pines is one of my favorite places. This area is home to coyotes, there are tracks everywhere you look.
This debris bowl would be slow going up!
Those trees are huge, 50 feet and higher....giving a perspective on how huge these slopes are.
Love the severe angles......in a few thousand years though, these slopes will be covered.....provided enough rain continues to fall.
