Great day for a short hike. The Tuolumne River was flowing good and very clear. Lembert Dome beckons me for another day. This 800 feet dome is hikable if you go up the back side. I spooked two big deer bushwacking through the woods. Saw a lot of fat ground squirrels in the meadows.
This pile of scat, on a rock, is a regular dumping spot for some mammal, maybe a raccoon. I like how the critter picks the same place to crap, out in the open for all to see.
Tioga Pass east of the gate is being paved for about five miles, causing a traffic problem.
